Hot Pepper, CASCABELLA
A small-fruited, heirloom, hot yellow wax type. Said to be ‘very pungent’, I can confirm but my tolerance to pungency is rather low and I use it sparingly. Its two main lovely characteristics: it’s early and it yields in abundance, small (1-2 in.) yellow (red mature) peppers on an umbrella-shaped plant. (The plant pictured here is young). Better used fresh or pickled (beautiful!) as it’s got thick-walled fruits tricky to dry well.
